How to set ManagedMetadata multiple value

Aug 2, 2016 at 1:55 PM
Hi everyone

DIFS is really powerful tool for import without loss of data, content types, metadata and so on

Today I'm trying to import to a list having ManagedMetaData

in the xml sample files i saw a type called xsi:type="ImportMapping_ManagedMetaDataAutoAdd"

I used this type but i can't see values in the destination column, my column still empty

my questions :

1- what type should I use ?
2- what about ManagedMetadata multiple values ?

ABC;
or
ABC; CDE;

Thanks a lot

The following works. The destination field "ClientName" is a single value managed meta data field. I have not tried with a multi value destination field.

The following mapping
    <ImportMapping xsi:type="ImportMapping_ManagedMetaDataAutoAdd">
      <DestinationField>ClientName</DestinationField>
      <SourceColumn>ClientName</SourceColumn>
    </ImportMapping>
The source value

Clients\My Client

The tag "Clients" already exists.

DIFS creates a new tag "My Client" underneath "Clients" and then tags the item with that value.

I think that having the ; in your source might be causing problems since I don't think that this is permitted in terms.

DIFS 2.3 adds import mapping.

ImportMapping_ManagedMetaDataCSOM

This will work on Office 365 where as ImportMapping_ManagedMetaDataAutoAdd does not.

DIFS 2.3 includes support for source and destination column containing / allowing multiple values.

Refer to the documentation for ImportMapping_ManagedMetaDataCSOM
